The below male species which I have sighted from SUST campus is a little more mature but not fully mature. The lateral part of the thorax is orange, dorsal part of the thorax is pruinosed lightly, wings transperant, abdomen orange except the terminal three which are black.

Till date, three Brachydiplax species have been recorded from Bangladesh. Among them, Brachydiplax chalybea can be distinguished easily by looking at the trademark color of its thorax.
Male
The juvenile male is orange in color, the terminal abdominal appendages particularly 9-10 and the anal appendages is black.
The below male species which I have sighted from SUST campus is a little more mature but not fully mature. The lateral part of the thorax is orange, dorsal part of the thorax is pruinosed lightly, wings transperant, abdomen orange except the terminal three which are black.
The adult male can be distinguished from the other male by the orange thorax, The wings are transperant, upper part of femur is orange, rest of the leg is black, terminal abdominal segments are black.

Female
The female are orange in color and are difficult to found. They stay outside of the water bodies in the forest patches. Terminal abdominal segments and anal appendages are black.
